Lucas County residents are encouraged to help “pretty our city” as part of Community Clean-up Day sponsored by the Promotion/Tourism Committee of Chariton Area Chamber/Main Street. On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., volunteers will be ready to receive drop-offs at 1415 Lucas Avenue. Residents can get rid of old junk, appliances, yard waste, tires, computer monitors, laptops, TVs, and other items. The cost to drop off is $15 per truckload with additional costs for specific items.
