This month, we are featuring Professional Designs, a full-service salon owned by a Chariton Native that employs numerous stylists and an esthetician. They offer everything from haircuts to permanent makeup.
What is your job title and role?
Tammy Black owns Professional Designs and is also one of the stylists. Her co-workers and other stylists are Jan Baughman, Brooke Bellon, Erin Ilyenko, and Molli Jo Nance who is an esthetician.

Describe your business
We are a full service salon providing haircuts, perms, color services, waxing, styling, nails & pedicures. Our Esthetician provides facials, waxing, last extensions and permenant make up.
Why do you do what you do?
We all enjoy making our clients look and feel beautiful.
Was there a specific moment or realization where you made the decision to start your own business?

I always wanted to have my own place where my co-workers had the freedom of being self-employed.
What inspires you to keep at it each day?
The awesome clients that we have developed strong relationships with.
Why did you choose Chariton for your business?
I have always lived here and wanted to raise my family here.
What are your biggest challenges as a business owner?
Keeping retail sales local.
What are your biggest rewards?
Helping achieve our clients goals and boosting their confidence.

Clients will have a kind, caring, compassionate & honest stylist or esthetician who will make their beauty experience comfortable and up-lifiting.
